Female Middle School Counselor Arrested – Inappropriate Relationship With Student

(ProsperNews.net) – Authorities in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, arrested a middle school guidance counselor for allegedly maintaining an inappropriate relationship with one of her 14-year-old students. Kelly Ann Schutte faces multiple charges relating to the relationship, including multiple counts of having intercourse with a student during school hours and corruption of a minor. Schutte also faces multiple counts of indecent assault of a minor.

Schutte worked as a guidance counselor for Pennridge South Middle School, where she met the victim. According to authorities, Schutte allegedly began an ongoing

relationship with the minor when he was 14-years-old, and it persisted after the academic year ended. Authorities claim that Schutte began inviting the victim into her home for inappropriate contact, and visited the boy’s home while his parents weren’t around.

The alleged relationship between Schutte and the boy began during a 2022 field trip. After the trip ended Schutte began calling the minor into her office repeatedly during school hours, presumably for more inappropriate contact with the minor. During the academic year Schutte and the minor allegedly used a school messaging app, known as Canvas, to contact one another. After the school year ended, the two began using Snapchat for continued communication

Schutte allegedly began having intercourse with the student in her vehicle while parked outside of a supermarket, and began visiting the boy’s home and inviting him into her home. Schutte is currently on administrative leave from the school district, pending on the criminal case’s results.

A spokesperson from the Pennridge School District addressed the allegations against Schutte in a statement, claiming that the school isn’t making any judgments about Schutte’s guilt. In the same statement, the spokesperson clarified that the Pennridge School District doesn’t condone inappropriate contact between staff members and students. If Schutte is found guilty for the offenses, her employment will be terminated.

Authorities arrested Schutte after receiving a report from the boy’s mother, who claimed she believed Schutte engaged in inappropriate contact with her son. The investigation into the allegations against Schutte are ongoing, and Schutte’s attorney isn’t discussing the charges against the guidance counselor at this time.
