(ProsperNews.net) – A lawyer claims that the FBI did not investigate links between Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew. Lisa Bloom made the assertion in a documentary about the relationship between the billionaire and the British Prince, saying a decision was made at law enforcement’s “highest level” not to “go after” Andrew in order to avoid political difficulties with the United Kingdom.
Bloom is acting on behalf of five of Mr. Epstein’s alleged victims and said Prince Andrew made several comments during his now-notorious interview with BBC reporter Emily Maitlis that were probably untrue, yet the FBI ignored these. The attorney added that if the suspect were not famous or well-connected, the approach taken by the feds would have been very different. “They would’ve spoken to witnesses, and if they had enough evidence, they would’ve extradited him to the US to face justice,” she said.
Prince Andrew, son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, spoke to Emily Maitliss in 2019 and made some outlandish claims, including that he was physically unable to sweat and that he was in a pizza restaurant in England at the time that his alleged victim said he assaulted her. The Prince was roundly mocked for his comments, and according to Bloom, the FBI did not look into them or use them to assess his credibility.
Furthermore, she remarked that he settled the case against his accuser for more than $10 million while continuing to deny any wrongdoing.
Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire financier from New York, was charged with trafficking underage girls for prostitution, and Prince Andrew is alleged to have abused a number of these victims. Virginia Guiffre said he abused her when she was 17 years old, and a photograph of the pair made global headlines because the Prince denied ever meeting her and said he could not explain the photo’s existence. During his interview with Maitliss, he insisted it was doctored.
Epstein committed suicide in his prison cell in Manhattan in 2019.
