Don Lemon Claims Black Voters Support Trump, Overlook Harris

(ProsperNews.net) – Former CNN host Don Lemon recently spoke on MSNBC’s “Inside” about his experiences talking to Black voters in several battleground states. He was surprised by how many of them, including women and people of color, said they planned to support former President Donald Trump. Lemon questioned whether the polls are really accurate about who supports whom, especially with the close race.

Lemon shared that, during his interviews, many Black men said they support Trump because they remember getting a $1,200 stimulus check while he was president. These voters seem to have forgotten that President Joe Biden also issued stimulus checks, but his name wasn’t printed on them. Lemon explained how Trump delayed sending the checks to have his name added, which gave people the impression that the money was directly from him. This, Lemon said, is a smart marketing move. It’s similar to how Trump puts his name on buildings he doesn’t actually own, which makes people think he’s wealthier and more involved than he really is.

Host Jen Psaki asked Lemon about Vice President Kamala Harris and how voters feel about her. Lemon noted that opinions varied based on the location. In more liberal areas like Philadelphia, people had different views compared to places like Pittsburgh, Ohio, and Atlantic City. In many of these places, especially in Ohio, a lot of voters didn’t even know who Harris was. Lemon pointed out that Harris may need to work on reintroducing herself to the public because many voters feel disconnected from her.

Lemon’s discussions highlighted the power of perception in politics. While many voters believe Trump is good for the economy and for Black communities, much of this belief seems to come from effective branding rather than a full understanding of the facts. As the 2024 election approaches, both Harris and Trump will need to work hard to connect with voters in key states.
