(ProsperNews.net) – Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis has sent more National Guard troops to Texas to help secure the porous southern border. Mr. DeSantis announced the deployment of 50 National Guardsmen, as well as 76 Florida Highway Patrol officers, adding to the numbers he has already sent.
The Republican ferociously lashed out at President Biden and said sending the officers to the Lone Star State was part of a “years-long effort” to do what the federal government won’t – secure the US border. DeSantis praised Texan efforts so far and said the state is effectively reducing the number of border crossers. Calling illegal migration “an American issue,” he said he wants Florida to be a part of the nation’s rescue.
The Sunshine State has already sent more than 700 National Guardsmen, 200 Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents, 100 Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle troopers, and 20 Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers to Texas, and DeSantis said he is committed to the fight for American borders. Speaking in Pensacola surrounded by uniformed troops, the Governor said people from all over the world are pouring into the United States and bringing international problems and divisions with them. He particularly noted high numbers of Chinese nationals crossing into the US, which he considers a specific threat.
Reports in February stated that the number of Chinese coming to America illegally has exploded and is now at unprecedented numbers. US Customs and Border agents said they encountered 452 Chinese nationals in two days at the San Diego sector, a new record. This is compared to just 450 who entered in 2021 through the entire US border.
Ron DeSantis, one of America’s most outspoken leaders on what he sees as a unique Chinese threat, has passed legislation banning China’s citizens from owning specific properties in the Sunshine State. Enacted last May, the law also prevents people from Russia, Iran, and other nations from buying real estate within 10 miles of military or other sensitive sites.
