(ProsperNews.net) – A conservative organization has accused CNN of being in “lockstep” with the Biden administration after the network declined to broadcast an ad featuring the murder of Georgia student Laken Riley and the open border many Republicans believe caused her death. Phil Cox, from the non-profit group Building America’s Future, called CNN’s behavior “shameful” and accused it of censoring the truth to protect President Biden and the Democrats. He added, however, that his group would not be deterred and would continue to inform the American people about “how we are all less safe in Joe Biden’s America.”
The advertisement, which has gone viral on social media, opens with a narrator stating that Laken Riley, who was murdered on her morning jog near the University of Georgia, should have been able to go for a run without fearing for her life or risking death at the hands of an unlawful alien. “But Joe Biden promised not to deport illegal immigrants,” it continued.
Subsequent video clips show the President declaring that migrants should not be “the focus of deportation” and would not face criminal punishment for unauthorized entrance to the United States. Therefore, the ad notes that when Jose Ibarra came to the US illegally, he was not detained and remained free to commit crimes against American citizens. CNN said it did not air the ad because it did not meet its editorial standards.
Georgia prosecutors charged the Venezuelan migrant with Riley’s murder a day after her college roommate reported her missing when she failed to return from her morning run. His attorneys recently announced that the alleged killer has requested a trial by jury, and the process may take up to a year.
The 22-year-old student’s mother, Allyson Phillips, has made clear that she blames the federal government for her loss. Phillips was furious when the President wrongly referred to Ms. Riley as “Lincoln” during his State of the Union address. “Biden does not even know my child’s name—it’s pathetic,” she said.
