(ProsperNews.net) – Former boxer Floyd Mayweather said he would use his private plane to take supplies to Israeli Defense Force (IDF) troops. The fighting legend took to social media in the wake of the terror attack on Israel saying he would send his jet – Air Mayweather – to the Middle East with equipment including bulletproof vests for Israeli soldiers. “I stand with Israel against the Hamas terrorists,” he wrote on an Instagram post that included a picture of him visiting the country in 2022.
The IDF is unlikely however to rely on the donations as it is one of the most robustly prepared military forces in the world. Expert Michael Clarke said the Israeli Defense Force is equipped with Merkava tanks, homemade Kfir fighter jets and advanced F-35 Lightning II jets provided by the United States, as well as complex and sophisticated drone technology.
Mr. Clarke added that while Israel may not confirm it publicly, the country has its own stock of nuclear weapons. “They have them for sure, 100%,” he said.
Mr. Mayweather is one of many famous figures to express solidarity with the embattled Jewish state. Pop icon Madonna called the attack on Israel “devastating.” Sharing video clips of the horrific raid, the music legend said humanity had not learned to live in peace and inhabits a world “ravaged by hate.” She said her “heart goes out to Israel.”
Other celebrities to speak out include Jamie Lee Curtis, who received a backlash of criticism for her stance in Israel’s favor, as well as comedienne Amy Schumer who said her “heart breaks.” The Jewish star reflected on her family history and how it was impacted by the Holocaust. She also described life as a Jewish child and the “world’s confusing hatred for us.”
California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom also expressed his support for stricken Israelis and had the Governor’s mansion lit up in the blue and white of Israel’s flag.
