(ProsperNews.net) – A co-founder of Black Lives Matter in Rhode Island has told Fox News that he endorses Donald Trump for the White House in 2024 and rejects Democrat policies that work against the interests of black Americans. Mark Fisher said Democrats are hypocrites who “use and abuse” black voters and implement policies that “strike at the heart of the black family and the nuclear family.”
Speaking on The Kim Iversen Show, Mr. Fisher added that he believes the Democratic party is racist, but Donald Trump is just the opposite. “He’s going to tell you how it is. He’s going to give it to you straight,” he said.
Support for Democrats from the black community has dwindled since Biden entered the Oval Office and is reportedly causing panic in Democrat circles. A New York Times-Siena College poll revealed an uptick in support for Trump in the black community, with 22% supporting the former President, compared to 8% in 2020. Mr. Trump polled ahead of President Biden by ten points in Nevada, six points in Georgia, five in Arizona and Michigan, four in Pennsylvania, and two in Wisconsin. President Biden won all six of those states in 2020.
Despite his support for Donald Trump, Mark Fisher insists he is still committed to Black Lives Matter and its goals, many of which conflict with Donald Trump’s. Often denounced as a far-left, neo-Marxist outfit, Black Lives Matter calls for an economic transformation away from private to collectivist ownership, police defunding, and reparations for black people impacted by systemic and institutional racism.
When Black Lives Matter activists rioted in America following the death of Minneapolis man George Floyd at the hands of police officers, Trump called the organization a “symbol of hate.” In response to vandalism and defacement of public tributes to historical figures, President Trump set up a task force to “protect American monuments, memorials, and statues.”
When told of Mark Fisher’s support, Trump said he was honored and called Fisher a “great guy.”
