Biden’s Old Tweet About Trump Sparks Claims He Should Be Impeached

(ProsperNews.net) – An old tweet from President Biden has resurfaced, prompting critics to claim that the President should be impeached according to his own standards. Biden posted the tweet in 2019. It called for the impeachment of Donald Trump because he refused to provide aid to Ukraine unless it “granted him a political favor.” Biden said this was the definition of quid pro quo and demonstrated that Trump placed his own interests above the security of the United States.

Eagle-eyed conservatives were quick to argue that Biden’s current refusal to send weapons shipments to Israel amounted to the same quid pro quo, and therefore, Biden was arguing for his own impeachment.

The White House dismissed the comparison as “ridiculous” and said Israel would get “every dollar” that Congress authorized. It argued that Trump had failed to spend the money that Capitol Hill approved, and as such, the comparison was false. Donald Trump was acquitted by the Senate in 2020 on impeachment charges accusing him of withholding Ukraine aid until its government helped him investigate Joe Biden.

The President is facing growing criticism, including from his own party, for withholding weapons shipments to Israel as it prepares to launch a ground offensive in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. New York Democrat Ritchie Tores has accused Biden of pandering to the far left. “It looks like election-year politics was driving it,” Torres said.

Republicans are equally furious, and some are calling for President Biden to face impeachment. Rep. Cory Mills of Florida has prepared impeachment articles saying Biden is abusing his power in attempting to direct Israel’s war strategy.

Speaker Mike Johnson said the President’s actions were “devastating,” and his decision went against what Congress had determined, which was to supply military aid to the Jewish state.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to proceed with the Rafah operation regardless. He said Israel is willing to stand alone and fight with its “fingernails” if necessary.
