Biden: Trump Should Have Injected Himself with Bleach

(ProsperNews.net) – President Biden said he wished Donald Trump had injected himself with bleach during a speech in San Francisco. Speaking at a fundraiser in the liberal city, the President claimed Trump had recommended that people administer bleach injections to themselves during the coronavirus pandemic. Biden asked his audience if they remembered those remarks, adding, “That’s what he said. And he meant it. I wish he had done a little bit himself.”

Conservative commentators, however, have long disputed that Trump ever made such a suggestion. Transcripts of a press conference where he allegedly made the comments reveal that then-President Trump invited exploration of various potential virus treatments and mentioned a partnership with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles to test new therapies involving inserting a catheter into patients to deliver ultraviolet lights that kill pathogens.

The President mentioned the words “injection” and “disinfectant” in his description of the program, and reporters questioned if he was suggesting people inject themselves with disinfectants. He said, “It wouldn’t be through injection,” before again emphasizing that doctors were exploring a variety of options.

Social media users quickly responded to Biden’s remarks, with many accusing him of lying or confusion. Several pointed out that the “injecting bleach” claim has been debunked numerous times. “He’s still repeating that lie?” one person tweeted.

Also in his San Francisco speech, President Biden accused Trump of scuppering his attempts to end the migration crisis and chaos at the southern border. He said he had put forward a solution to the problem which Congress was ready to approve until “that loser” Donald Trump intervened.

The immigration and foreign aid bill that came before Congress in February died due to a lack of Republican support. Trump fiercely opposed the legislation, saying it did little to secure the US border while giving billions of dollars to foreign nations. Prior supporters, including Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell, refused to vote the package through after Trump made his objections clear.
