(ProsperNews.net) – Illegal aliens are receiving medical and dental care from the Department of Veteran Affairs while US vets are pushed to the back of the line, according to the Concerned Veterans for America group. Darin Selnick, an adviser with the organization, told Fox News that the Department processed 161,000 claims for illegal immigrants in 2022.
“Meanwhile, veterans are having a hard time getting health care. They’re literally dying because they can’t get mental health in a timely manner,” Mr. Senick said. He added that veterans also endure devastating diagnoses, including cancer, without the support they are supposed to receive. “Easy button for unauthorized migrants. Hard button for veterans. It’s got to stop,” Selnick declared.
The financial arrangements involving healthcare for migrants have now come under scrutiny, and reports suggest a complex system is in place. The usual arrangement is that if immigrants under the care of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) need medical help, they are usually treated by on-site medical staff, or if specialist care is necessary, the migrant is transferred to independent private healthcare providers.
ICE reportedly uses Veteran Affairs (VA) computer processing systems to reimburse the private healthcare contractors. VA press secretary Terrence Hayes told Fox that his Department does not fund migrant care. He insisted that ICE’s Health Service Corps (IHSC) “provides and pays for all health care services for individuals detained in its custody.”
Senator Steve Daines of Montana has spoken out on the issue and condemned the Biden administration. In a notice on his website on December 5, Senator Daines accused the government of “diverting Department of Veterans Affairs health care resources from veterans to illegal immigrants.”
The Senator wrote that the US is facing severe threats to its security because of Biden’s failures on the southern border and the influx of potential terrorists. At the same time, it puts the interest of migrants above US vets, he said. “Biden’s border crisis puts illegal immigrants first, it puts our veterans last,” Senator Daines concluded.
