Biden Open to Trump Prison Sentence After Kamala’s Comment

(ProsperNews.net) – During a rally in Philadelphia, President Joe Biden made remarks suggesting he is looking forward to seeing former President Donald Trump face potential prison time. Biden referenced Trump’s legal troubles, highlighting the $83 million in liability for sexual abuse and defamation, as well as the 34 felony charges related to payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels. Biden added that he believes Trump is running for president again in order to “stay out of jail.”

Earlier that day, Vice President Kamala Harris had appeared on The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne tha God, where she warned that Trump would likely “weaponize” the Department of Justice (DOJ) to target his political opponents if re-elected. She expressed concerns that Trump would replace independent officials with loyalists, a move that would echo dictatorial regimes. Charlamagne remarked that Trump would likely attempt to imprison his political enemies if given the opportunity.

Critics have pointed out the irony of Harris’s comments, as the DOJ under Biden, along with Democratic state prosecutors, has been actively pursuing legal cases against Trump for several years. The 34 felonies mentioned by Biden relate to claims that Trump improperly handled payments to Daniels as part of a non-disclosure agreement, which prosecutor Alvin Bragg alleges should have been reported as campaign expenditures.

Biden himself has faced criticism for his influence on the DOJ, particularly regarding the prosecution of individuals involved in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. He previously admitted that his comments urging the DOJ to prosecute protesters were “not appropriate.”

Trump’s legal battles are ongoing, with many speculating that his potential convictions could be overturned on appeal, given the contentious nature of the cases.
