(ProsperNews.net) – Vast numbers of Chinese citizens are migrating to America, but President Biden did not mention this to Xi Jinping when they met recently in California. More than 100,000 people have arrived in America from China since 2021, and according to the New York Times, “When Biden and Mr. Xi met last week during an international summit in San Francisco, for instance, immigration was absent in their discussion.”
Michele Thoren Bond, a former assistant secretary of state, told the newspaper that when the US asked China to repatriate some of its citizens in the past, the communist state denied that they were Chinese. Bond said it is “not credible” that China cannot identify its people given that the state holds photographs and information about every one.
In other instances, the US has identified often violent criminals as Chinese nationals, but China’s government would not provide the necessary paperwork to transport them back to their own country. In 2015, for example, there were 39,000 people awaiting deportation from the US to China, including 900 violent offenders, but Chinese officials would not cooperate with the removals. Subsequently, most of them remained in America and were released from detention.
Meanwhile, migration from China through the southern border has almost doubled in just one year. According to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), in the year leading up to August 2023, there were 45,500 encounters at the border, compared to 28,000 in 2022. A national security analyst, Rebecca Grant, believes China facilitates much of this migration to insert spies into US society. “We know that China is using everything that they have, every bit of espionage, to spy on our military and our high technology,” she said.
Mark Green, the Republican chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, added that many Chinese migrants are military-age men with ties to the Chinese Communist Party. However, the Department of Homeland Security insists that anyone who poses a threat is denied entry to the United States.
