(ProsperNews.net) – President Biden’s “incompetence” could cause an escalation of conflict in the Middle East, according to Fox News commentator KT McFarland. She said the situation in the region was spiraling out of control, and Biden’s policy of appeasement toward Iran was making matters worse. “President Joe Biden’s policies have not convinced Iran to become a responsible power,” she wrote, adding that if President Trump’s policies were still in place, America would not be dragged into a war it doesn’t want.
Iran has been highly active in the region since the terror attack on Israel last October, with several proxy groups launching assaults against US and Israeli targets, including Houthi rebel attacks on ships in the Red Sea. McFarland notes that Iranian proxies have launched over 100 strikes on US outposts in Iraq and Syria. A drone attack on a US military base in Jordan in January killed three American troops and injured dozens more in what is widely recognized as a significant escalation in the Middle East conflict since October 7.
The Biden administration said it will respond at a time and manner of its choosing, but McFarland warns that in his efforts to do the opposite of Donald Trump, Biden has become Iran’s “great enabler.”
For example, Biden unfroze billions of dollars of funds for Iran in exchange for American hostages, which, McFarland argues, gave the Islamic regime the money it needed to boost its proxies, including Hamas. She called for more aggression against the Iranians and to let them know that their behavior would not be tolerated.
US forces, in alliance with the UK, did launch airstrikes at Houthi installations in Yemen but only destroyed around a third of these, Ms. McFarland claims. Her calls for a more significant show of strength from America echo those of a former British Army commander who called on the US to display its strength as a warning to Iran or risk descent into a third World War.
