Biden Admin Forces 80K Employees to Use Transgender Pronouns

(ProsperNews.net) – The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will force its employees to use the pronouns required by its transgender or “non-binary” staff, regardless of their own views. In an email to staff members, HHS officials said the new policy intends to ensure that “all employees feel safe and seen.” The HHS introduced the Gender Identity Non-Discrimination and Inclusion Guidance to celebrate “National Coming Out Day.”

Assistant Health Secretary “Rachel” Levine posted a video to YouTube also acknowledging and celebrating “National Coming Out Day,” as well as thanking the HHS for support and leadership and ensuring “HHS employees, including transgender and nonbinary employees, have equal protections in the workplace.”

Roger Severino, former HHS Office for Civil Rights director during the Trump administration, pointed out, however, that those who object to radical transgender ideas or insist on adhering to biological norms do not have their rights protected. “HHS today imposed a transgender pronoun mandate on its employees who will now be forced to deny biological realities with their own words or face firing,” Severino said.

People losing their jobs for using specific pronouns is not a new phenomenon and has occurred in the US for some years. In 2018, for example, a French teacher in Virginia was fired for refusing to refer to a female student with male pronouns. Peter Vlaming offered to compromise and avoid pronouns altogether when addressing the student and even said he would agree to use the pupil’s chosen female name, but the school board decided to terminate his employment.

In Wisconsin last year, a school filed a Title IX complaint against three pupils, accusing them of harassment for objecting to using “they/them” pronouns. The mother of one of the accused boys, Rosemary Rabidoux, said, “I thought it wasn’t real! I thought this has got to be a gag, a joke.”

Free speech campaigners insist that forcing people to use pronouns against their will infringes on First Amendment rights.
