(ProsperNews.net) – Hollywood actor Christian Oliver died in a plane crash, along with his two children, over the Christmas holiday. Oliver took off from JF Mitchell Airport on the Caribbean island of Bequia with his 10 and 12-year-old daughters, but the plane experienced technical difficulties and crashed into the ocean soon after its departure. The pilot and aircraft’s owner, Robert Sachs, also died.
The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force issued a statement saying, “Moments after taking off, the aircraft experienced difficulties and plummeted into the ocean. Fishermen and divers from Paget Farm went to the scene of the incident in their boats to render assistance.” When the fishermen located the plane, they found that all on board had died, and the bodies were taken to a local mortuary.
Christian Oliver was best known for his roles in The Baby-Sitters Club, Speed Racer, and Valkyrie. Born in Germany in 1972, he moved to Los Angeles in his teens and set his sights on a modeling career. He later began studying acting and got his big break with a role in Steven Soderbergh’s crime movie The Good German opposite George Clooney and Cate Blanchett.
Immediately before his death, he completed filming on Forever Hold Your Peace, co-starring Bai Ling, who tweeted that she “cannot express” the sorrow she felt upon hearing that his plane had crashed.
Jessica Klesper, Mr. Oliver’s wife and mother of the two girls, issued a statement on her Instagram account saying she is “deeply saddened” by the tragedy. In an emotional message to readers, she wrote, “Hug your loved ones, tell them you love them, be kind to each other.” She said her husband and children are watching over her and advised people not to argue or worry about minor issues but to enjoy life, which is “precious.”
Two days before his death, Mr. Oliver posted on social media, “2024, here we come!”
