Another Democrat Charged with Absentee Ballot Fraud

(ProsperNews.net) – A Connecticut Judge overturned the result of a Democratic election in Bridgeport, citing evidence of electoral fraud. Superior Court Judge William Clark ordered a new election after seeing video footage showing a woman dropping stacks of papers into an absentee ballot box outside the Bridgeport government center. John Gomes, a candidate in the mayoral primary election, released the footage on Facebook in September.

The Gomes campaign identified the woman as Wanda Geter-Pataky – vice chair of the Democratic Town Clerk and supporter of incumbent Mayor Joe Ganim. Gomes said the video proved the election “was unequivocally stolen through corruption within City Hall.”

Mr. Gomes lost the contest by 251 votes, with Gamin winning the absentee ballot race by 1,545 to 779. The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating.

Also in September, police opened an inquiry into Bridgeport City Councilwoman Maria Pereira. Jillian Baldwin, executive director of Park City Communities – an elderly public housing residence – said Pereira entered one of the residents’ units without authorization and appeared to look through her mail, presumably to locate her absentee ballot.

A subsequent affidavit said Ms. Pereira harassed and threatened voters, tricked them into canceling their votes, and harvested ballots. The Councilwoman said she was unconcerned about the police investigation.

Pereira was also one of two Democrats arrested at a polling station on the day of the elections, but no details have yet been published.

Accusations of voter fraud have long plagued American politics, but the issue rose to unprecedented prominence following the Presidential election of 2020. Former President Donald Trump insists the election was “rigged” against him, and he remains resolute in that claim. Trump said boxes were stuffed with false ballots and electronic voting machines produced inaccurate results. “Ballots were trafficked and sold in a massive operation in each Swing State,” he stated.

Many Trump supporters stand by their candidate and believe he was cheated. Some survey figures show that 35% of Americans agree with President Trump.
