Actor Christian Oliver, Daughters Aged 10 and 12, Killed in Plane Crash

(ProsperNews.net) – The actor Christian Oliver and his two young daughters died in a plane crash in the Caribbean on January 4. Best known for his roles in The Baby-Sitters Club, Speed Racer, and Valkyrie, the 51-year-old took off from JF Mitchell Airport on the small Caribbean island of Becquia with his 10 and 12-year-old daughters, before the plane experienced technical difficulties and crashed into the ocean. The aircraft’s owner and pilot Robert Sachs also died.

The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force issued a statement saying, “Moments after taking off, the aircraft experienced difficulties and plummeted into the ocean. Fishermen and divers from Paget Farm went to the scene of the incident in their boats to render assistance.” The fishermen found that everyone aboard the plane had died; their bodies were taken to a local mortuary.

Jessica Klesper, Mr. Oliver’s wife and mother of the two girls, issued an emotional statement saying she is “deeply saddened” by the tragedy. On her Instagram account, she wrote, “Hug your loved ones, tell them you love them, be kind to each other.” She said her husband and children are watching over her, and advised people not to argue or worry about minor issues, but to enjoy life, which is “precious.”

Born in Germany in 1972, Oliver grew up in Frankfurt and moved to Los Angeles as a teenager, where he began a career as a model. He later took up acting and landed his first significant role in Steven Soderbergh’s crime movie The Good German opposite George Clooney and Cate Blanchett. He starred with Christian Ricci and John Goodman two years later in the Wachowski brothers’ Speed Racer.

Just before his death, he completed filming on Forever Hold Your Peace, co-starring Bai Ling, who said she “cannot express” the sorrow she felt upon hearing that his plane had crashed.

Two days before the tragedy, Mr. Oliver posted on social media, “2024, here we come!”
