(Prospernews.net) – John Kerry is comparing “climate change” to the D-Day landings in World War Two. The Special Presidential Envoy for Climate made the comparison during a speech in Norway on June 6th, the anniversary of the battle’s commencement on the French coast. He said of the soldiers, including 73,000 Americans, who landed in Normandy to push the Nazis out of France, “They were fighting for a set of values I would say to you are just as important today as they were then. They put their lives on the line to fight against fascism, tyranny and misinformation and the savage slaughter of innocent lives.”
Kerry went on to say that people today must rise up against climate change in the way they rose up against Hitler and added that climate change will lead to even more tragic consequences than if the Nazis had won the war.
Republicans called on President Biden to disavow Kerry’s comments, which they describe as “deeply offensive.” A GOP group, led by Rep. Mark Alford of Missouri, said Kerry’s remarks are a “slap in the face” to the people who work hard to produce food and fuel.
The former Presidential candidate is among many who believe that changes in the world’s temperature will lead to catastrophe and represent an existential threat to humanity. Furthermore, he believes that human activity is causing this.
However, in 2019, a group of scientists and climatologists said there is no climate emergency and the world has warmed and cooled naturally throughout history. The scientists said political policy on climate is based on inadequate data models and carbon dioxide is not a pollutant but an essential source of all life on earth. It also stated that climate change had not caused extreme weather events, which were much more common in the past than today.
Many critics of the mainstream climate change narrative believe the issue is used as a pretext to remove individual freedoms and install global governance.
